Built on empty fields at Combe Park, Bath War hospital could provide 500 beds. Chosen as a good location by Sr Alfred Keogh and was relatively close to Southampton water and the connecting railways. Bath was a sizable city with access to large medical personnel. It also had the advantage of a mineral spring.
