Beaufort War Hospital, Fishponds, Bristol
Glenside Hospital (Bristol Lunatic Asylum) became the Beaufort War Hospital in 1915. This was a military hospital with almost 1,500 beds and the casualties arrived by train into Bristol Station. The hospital was staffed by the sisters and nurses from the QAIMNS(R) + members of the VAD. Matron was Miss A.C. Gibson.
